Cheryl Moser | Portfolio

Welcome!

This portfolio is a case study in architectural modernization. It is transforming from a static site into a full-stack, layered application to demonstrate a highly efficient, containerized microservices solution. This is a passion project, so it will evolve over time, but I invite you to check back often to see the progress. Thanks for visiting!

A little about me

Hi, I'm Cheryl. Runner, hiker, DIYer, nerd, cat enthusiast. I've done a bit of everything: had a full career in massage therapy as an injury rehabilitation specialist, spent 6+ years as an ArchViz specialist, worked all the customer service jobs in all the industries (ok not really, but I have had a lot of customer service jobs, especially while in school). I've been a circus performer, a magician's assistant, a disaster simulation tech, a volunteer with the Department of Public Works crew for The Thing in the Desert, earned two bachelor degrees almost a decade apart... I mean, that's a lot, right? And that's not even all of it.

My Tech Journey

I'm pretty sure the tech courses that I took in junior and senior high school (keyboarding, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office applications) are ultimately what set me on my tech adventures. Between then and now, I...

✔️ Taught myself html so I could create a website for my circus troupe.
✔️ Expanded on programming languages throughout my first bachelor program, namely VB.net, Wolfram Language (mathematical modeling), and Java.
✔️ Earned my first degree (Anthropology: Human Evolutionary Biology) with an associate's level focus on engineering, biology, and upper level math.
✔️ Worked in Architectural Visualization, using 3D modeling & rendering tech, including game engines
✔️ Joined tech-industry friends for a weekly tech meetup focused on learning python, agile methodology, and devops.
✔️ Earned my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
✔️ Continue to mentor and support Computer Science students as a teaching assistant post-graduation.

Which leads me to here, fully equipped and excited for the next chapter of my tech career.
